It's located 18 km from Székelyudvarhely (Odorheiu Seciuesc), towards Csíkszereda (Miercurea Ciuc) on the 13 A international road next to the chapel.
Thanks to its position, it is one of the most beautiful places of the country, it lies in the Big-Homorod valley, in the central-Hargita volcanic mountain southern foreground.

The settlement is known already from the XVI. century because of its richwater mineral sources,  due to the volcanic postfunctioning. The mountain climate assures favorable conditions for the recreation.
